Progressive Sanctification (Part 3)

Stages of Progressive sanctification also known as Progessive Transformation

Repentance/turning away from sin.

The simplest way I can think of to give a mental image of repentance is to find yourself walking toward a cliff. Seeing and confirming and agreeing that if you continue to walk the same direction you will fall off the cliff and die. Then knowingly and intentionally choosing to stop and turn around and walk the opposite way. Turning from death to Life. But this is just the beginning of the most amazing, intimate, fulfilling, stable, Rock solid relationship a person could ever hope to experience.

Trusting in Christ/genuine faith in the Promises of God

For most, this is a human problem where we learn to trust God as we see His faithfulness in our lives and the lives of others. However, if one does not know the Word, the narrative of God, His Promises and His historical fulfillment of those Promises as these are experienced and revealed in your own life through the Spirit, trust can grow and deepen. As one presses into the Father, looking for opportunities to trust Abba, in the little and the big, be thankful for those things you’re blessed with, and speak the Word to one’s self. These things are ways to see and ponder how Yahweh has already proven He is trustworthy. This is intentional trust building, creating healthy patterns in all our relationships beginning with Jehovah. The Word also warns to test all things to be sure that they line up with the Word of God. So, the Word is the Standard.

Following Christ with faithful obedience.

Over time, by the will of the Spirit, a continued depth and maturity emerge and manifest. This maturity comes with the practice of living out the fruits of the Spirit, choosing with intentionality, one choice at a time, the will of God and righteous living. This application of the Word of God, personally and intimately at a core level, will become the dominant story line of your own autobiography. Experience, practice, and intentionality from the personal place where free will is the only factor in human control, with a heart seeking to live a life that pleases God, honors Him, and is a beacon of Life to others……this is where the progressive manifested sanctified life becomes more apparent to everyone around you; our faith reflected progressively in the way we live it out in our life.
