Perspective shift – Tough Love

“Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.” Proverbs 27:6 King James Version (KJV) Most people will tell you what you want to hear, because truth is difficult to hear, and the amount of salt you need to flavor it, depends upon the individual.

If you're half as hardheaded as I am, sometimes you need truth delivered bluntly, with some stank on it, to get it past the cranium into the heart. People who love you and want the best for you will call you out and tell you the hard truth, even if it costs the relationship. The TRUTH is worth standing on. No one can love tougher than Jesus. He was on the Cross, AFTER being beaten so badly that some areas were ripped to the bone. He carried the very tree on which HE GAVE HIS LIFE for you and I to know Him. He is the TRUTH that sets captives free. Jesus is the TRUTH and His greatest Act of Love was displayed on the cross. Consider the PAIN He endured to set us Free. Think of your worst pain, or agony and there is still no comparison! He put it ALL on the line for us. He is the Way, Truth, and Life. You cannot embrace the Freedom of Life without walking in Truth, He is the only Way.

Say this next verse but when you speak it, place your name where the world and whosoever are, make it personal because it is.

“For God so loved the world (your name), that He gave His Only Begotten Son, that whosoever (your name) believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting Life.” John 3:16 (KJV)

Jesus saith unto him (you), I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me. John 14:6 King James Version (KJV)

Sinner’s Prayer:

“Have mercy on me, O God, according to Your unfailing love; according to Your great compassion blot out my transgressions. Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin. For I know my transgressions, and my sin is always before me. Against You, and You only, have I sinned and done what is evil in Your sight, so that You are proved right when You speak and justified when You judge. I believe Jesus is your Son. I believe He died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead on the third day. Thank you for sending Him to bear my sins and give me the gift of eternal life. I believe ALL your words are true. Come into my heart, Lord Jesus, and be my Savior. Amen.
