Perspective shift – Matters of the Heart

“I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well.” Psalm 139:14 (NKJV)

Have you ever thought about this verse? I mean, really just sat and pondered about what the Word is saying to your “inner” person? Or how this has even more depth, not just as a singularly theological, historical, philosophical or any individual view or perspective? This passage is uniquely each of us, as well as all the above combined and more. The entire Bible is what God ordained it to be, His Universal Autobiography, His story that has always been. However, the Bible clearly identifies when Creation of Life as we know it and Creation of man began.

God provided His story in a narrative presentation. Even more astounding are those "before man" elements of God's story, as found in Isaiah 14:12-21, and the books of Revelation, Ezekiel, and so many others. Father God (Abba) also provided various details about His enemy satan who is, by default, our enemy as well. (Psalm 27, John 10:10, 1 Peter 5:8, Ephesians 6:10-18). Each detail, word, page, chapter, book, holds significance in a Holistic way. Even the book of Chronicles. Just recently, this knowledge rooted deeper, bringing with it new revelation. One significant detail jumped at me and stuck. The genealogical records listed in the book of Chronicles points to His faithfulness. He did not forget anyone, the fact that they are all named shows importance. Every generation, none skipped, all listed in His Book! Once this nugget sunk in, I talked with Abba, I chewed, pondered, and listened. I began to understand that if Abba had chosen to record each specific detail of His story in every generation, well the Bible would be much larger than it currently is.

But wait, this gets better. He doesn’t provide every detail or bit of information (evolutionists claim they are lacking). Yet this does not negate, or reduce the significance of each revealed word, the life of each person, time, era, or circumstance. Let me take this further. I find it quite amazing that His narrative, our Creator’s autobiography continues to be written on the hearts and through the lives of men and women today. Friends realize that God is Holistic. He is just as concerned about the small details as is He is the Whole story, both on a personalized, individual level, and on a universal, all of Creation level. So if you are feeling insignificant, or struggling to find your place in His Kingdom work on Earth, take heart and have hope. Remember you would not be here if you were not significant and vital to God's story.
