Perspective Shift: Heavenly Minded

I have heard throughout my life from various people the phrase:
“Do not be so heavenly minded you are no earthly good.”
This has never really set in me, even as a young Christian. After more than a decade, growing in depth and intimacy with Abba, and the revelation of the Word through my walk, I would have to say that I have a very different understanding. A Biblical perspective, and my spirit tells me that this is a false statement. I would restate and rethink this and shift that sentence so that I would be speaking Truth.
“One is no earthly good if they are not Heavenly minded.” Or “One must be fully Heavenly minded to be any earthly good.” How are we to fill our Heavenly Purpose, be focused on the things above, be conduits and Ambassadors to Heaven if we are not fully focused on Abba, the Cross, and being led by the Spirit. Earthly good for Abba is ALWAYS the results of being fully focused on His will being done on earth as it is in Heaven. Good works will follow us. We are made in His Image; our home IS Heaven. Good works, the fulfillment of the Commission, and our Purpose can only be fully realized with an intentional Heavenly, or Eternal focus.
Let me provide Biblical basis for my position. Look at Peter, the only mortal to have walked on water. This is an amazing miracle of our Power to impact the world. When we fully focus on Abba, nothing is impossible. It was not until Peter’s focus shifted from Jesus to an earthly one that he began to sink (Matthew 14:22-33, KJV). Let us think about Paul who wrote 2/3 of the New Testament and went through various terrible earthly traumas, beatings, tortures, perils, trials, and tribulations. His response; focus on Abba, the things of Heaven, and Eternity.
Colossians 3:2-4 King James Version (KJV)
2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. 3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

Philippians 3:14-21 (KJV)
14I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. 15 Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you. 16 Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing. 17 Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample. 18 (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: 19 Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)20 For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: 21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.
