Living by Faith and Not by Fear

Hebrews 12:12

Late at night

As I lie awake in bed

The doubts start racing

In and out of my head

It’s hard to fight this melancholy

As sleep evades my grasp

It seems I’m constantly bombarded

By fears of repeating my past

I choose to start my life anew

Living in the faith I’ve been given

Transformation is done by steps

But begins with just a decision.

Jesus is there to hold me tight

As these feelings come and go

He is here to guide me through them

As my tears begin to flow

I refuse to run away or hide

And I will not numb the pain

I’ve tried that in the past

There’s nothing to be gained.

I’ll just rely on Jesus,

He’ll wipe away my tears

He will never leave me hangin’

There is nothing more to fear
