You will know the Truth and the Truth will set you free John 8:32

Who the Lord sets free is free indeed. John 8:36

The truth is found in God’s Word. This is an absolute and universal truth. Though not all agree or recognize now, the day will come that opinions will not matter because every knee will bow, and every tongue will confess that Jesus IS Lord. Christ died for our sins, conquered death and the grave, and rose so we could be free!

But why do I feel so _____? (Fill in the Blank)

Why do I still _______? (Fill in the Blank)

Freedom is a promised fact that we believe by faith. However, we do not always ‘feel’ free, and as a result, we often do not ‘behave’ free.

Sometimes we do not know how to walk out that freedom so that it begins to manifest in the natural. Other times we begin to doubt the promise because we have limited sight, seeing our immediate natural state that may seem like we are still chained by the same issues.

My friend I can say that standing in faith and agreement with Christ is more than just wishing and hoping that you will somehow wake up and not have to struggle with the same stuff, habits, temptations, and sinful behaviors. One of the reasons people ‘fall away’ from faith is because they have an incorrect preconceived notion. It goes something like “now that I accepted Christ and become a Christian, everything should just be better.” The problem is that better in our human perception and limited vision looks like ‘perfection’.

First, ‘better’ will never look like perfection this side of Heaven. Second, ‘better’ looks like a lifetime of practice and adjustments, cutting out unproductive habits and mindsets and adopting new God-honoring Truths and actions. This only comes from consistent and personal partnership with the Holy Spirit. Every day we must set our mind and offer our will in intentional and active partnership to the will of our Father.

Most importantly, ‘better’ will look different for each of us because each of us began in a different place and are one of a kind. Trying to compare is just as fruitless as comparing the Mona Lisa with the Leaning Tower of Pisa. The are both masterpieces in their own right.

We do not have to wait to experience progressive freedom, “for the righteous take it by force”. One of the most important ways we partner with the Holy Spirit is by being renewed daily in the Word. Being transformed, though, happens over a lifetime.

Take heart Our loving Father will "finish the good work He began"! Philippians 1:6

Be blessed and be a blessing.
